This is our second visit to this hotel and in my personal opinion it's one of the best 4 stars hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are a good size and the breakfast buffet offers a good selection. This hotel is located very near two trams, the closest being Ghulhane station and Sirciki and also walking distance to plenty of restaurants and shops. We very much enjoyed our stay here.

Topkapi Palace
The home of Ottoman sultans for hundreds of years, Topkapi Palace is part of Istanbul’s UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dating back to 1459, this sprawling royal residence once covered a huge stretch of the shore – and even had its own hospital, mint and mosques within the walls. Now a museum, it displays some of the most important artefacts of the Muslim world.

i know the country is struggling and that they also have to do what they can to reduce the hordes tramping through Topkapi, but you have to be on the level of the British Museum or the Louvre with a once-in-a-lifetime traveling exhibit to justify these kinds of prices.
I'm very interested in Turkish history as well as an archaeology buff and it didn't merit the investment.
i think they should cut the price in half, offer a steep discount for seniors, and cut off ticket sales at a certain volume each hour.

1,700 lira per person, payable in cash or card (debit/credit) in TL, Euros, or USD. The free audio guide requires you leave your passport as deposit (not $), so be sure to bring yours. There is only one place inside that require women to wear a shawl and they have freebies you can use at the entrance to those rooms. The harem is included in this price, NO need to pay an extra 600 TL. Budget at least a good couple hours just to tour the place.

Too expensive ticket, but if you enter, do eat before entering and grab with yourself a bigger bottled water. There is no place to get a water inside, one spot sells drinks at multiple times the normal price. The trip may last around 3 hours so eat well beforehand. Really recommend going early, as later in the day and after 2 + hours after opening, it gets too crowdy.

1500 Liras per person in June 2024.
1500 Liras per person in June 2024. We had to pay this price for kids aged 7, 9 and 11 as well. You only get discount if you show passports. Overpriced and too many people. Museum is worth visting but not at that price.

The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is very kind and always ready to help. The breakfast is good, the rooftop restaurant with a view is also nice. Location is pretty good, near Sultan Ahmed Mosque, Aya Sophia, Topkapi palace, Basilica cistern and 5 min. far from the T1 station. I would stay at the hotel again.
Great hotel and awsome friendly staff. Everything is just perfect about this hotel. Topkapi palace is literally adjacent to the hotel and Hagia Sophia precinct is at 4min walk. The rooms are spacious, as well as the bathrooms with new furniture. Staff is friendly and helpful. I would give 5 out of 5 and would definitely stay again.
This hotel is all about location, location, location. It's at the heart of the old city, close to Sultanahmet and all the historical sites you'd want to visit, including the Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Grand Bazaar, and more. The staff was very helpful and kind. It will definitely be my first choice if I get the chance to visit again.
A nice small hotel that's a good value for money place to stay to have your own private room that's comfortable and a private bathroom with decent facilities. It's right near the main tourist area so a 5-10 min walk from Hagia Sophia, Blue mosque, Topkapi palace and Basilica cisterns (which I thought was very cool), but also slightly out the way so quiet. The staff are very friendly and helpful but mostly just let you get on with it so a good place to stay to have a bit of peace for good value.
Perfect location , just few step from Aya Sofia and Topkapi palace . In the heart of the historical part of Istanbul. Exceptional terrace for breakfast with amazing view . Good breakfast . Highly recommend
The hotel is located on a quiet street directly opposite Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and Topkapi Palace. It is also very close to a tram stop. The hotel staff is very helpful and friendly.
The staff was extremely polite and helpful with us. Excellent breakfast with large variety. Clean rooms and nicely designed bathrooms. The hotel is in a quite neighborhood within 5 minutes walk from very well known touristic spots like Ayia Sofia, Blue Mosque and TopKapi Palace. Metro (Tram) Station within the same radius. Variety of restaurants and all sorts of shops. Grand Bazaar also very close.
Decent, clean room. Breakfast buffet service .Good location, just a short, uphill walk. Surroundings all the restaurants. Room service very good. Receptions in tge looby keen to help.
Enough happening in the area without being too frantic.
Easy walking distance to Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace.
Good find over all. We our kids all enjoy it and will come again in same hotel.
The hotel is lovely, staff are amazing and friendly.
The location is the best thing about the hotel very close to shops, haggia sophia and topkapi palace is a short walk.
Many restaurants just a few steps from front door and markets are close as well.
The ferry port and river is only about a 15 minute walk.
The hotel is kept very clean by the cleaners who are very attentive leaving fresh towels every day and checking room over.
Breakfast is buffet style on the roof terrace with beautiful views over Istanbul, walking distance of the Blue Mosque, Aghia Sophia and Topkapi Palace. Everyone we interacted with were absolutely brilliant. The room was spacious as well as the bathroom.

What guests said about Topkapi Palace:
Walk everywhere possible.
Walk everywhere possible. Visit Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basilica cisterns and Topkapi Palace but go as early as possible as they get very crowded. For a trip on the Bosporus get the public ferry from under the Galata bridge to the last stop and go up to the castle and then get last ferry back to Istanbul. The first ferry is at 10.35 and the ferry back is at 3ish. It is very reasonable but there is no commentary but we thought it was excellent but be early to get a good view and position on top deck. We found the best restaurant to be Amedros. We went two times and the food is excellent and good value and the staff friendly attentive.

If you go to Topkapi Palace it is worth paying for a guided tour in order to appreciate it. Audio guides are available but in my experience these are often disappointing. The rooms are often empty and there is limited information to read. A guide brings the place to life.
