The history is stunning and the main room is beautiful as well as the mosaics. However, I was underwhelmed considering they now charge to go in and you cannot go on the main floor (a result of it being turned into a mosque). Also the carpet choice doesn't help with the overall site. I think the other mosques were better.
Also, there are LONG queues to buy a ticket and then queues to go in. I would recommend going to the Hagia Sophia experience museum (across the Obelisk) and buy tickets there.

Hagia Sophia itself is impressive, I certainly wouldn't recommend the so-called "museum," which is ridiculously overpriced and basically just a long, ridiculous video in a bunch of different rooms, played at the volume of a rock concert. Go watch a documentary. You'll learn a lot more.

They turned this museum into a mosque under Erdogan. It has been a museum for almost 100 years, but now it is a mosque and you are not allowed to go and explore the place inside, but are confined to a small space at the ground floor of the building. Very, very sad!!
Art City Hotel is in a beautiful place in Istanbul. The sea view is magnificent and the hotel's terrace and mosque streets are very beautiful. You can walk to Sultanahmet and Hagia Sophia. The hotel is in a beautiful historical place. You can have breakfast on the terrace. Thank you very much. Manager Reshad is always there to help you.

For price we booked it is really amazing place. there was breakfast(not big variety of food, but ok), helpful staff, 24hours reception, cleaning and fresh water every day, in the heart of old city, very close to main attractions and tram stop. Around hotel there are many restaurants. if we are talking about Hagia Sophia room- It is big, located on 5th floor with awesome view on Hagia Sophia mosque, big balcony where you can see Galata tower and city.
The room looks like new and so its bathroom, clean and tidy. My room located in the other wing than the main hotel building which has laundry and kitchen facility where guests can freely use it.
Hotel location is perfect, it’s around 10 minutes walking distance to Sultanahmed square and other tourist spots surround it (Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia). Many restaurants, shops, cafes and local souvenir shops for traveler’s nearby attraction.
This is a hard review to write because the staff was so wonderful it is hard to disparage, but the hotel needs some changes before I would recommend them. We stayed in the family room with connecting door
