We loved everything about this hotel!! New spacious room with modern bathroom and lovely private patio; excellent pool to cool off after morning safari or before evening one; very friendly and helpful manager who was always smiling and sharing info about elephants with us over meals; very good food (really liked the rice and curry!) which we weren’t necessarily expecting from a hotel restaurant. And the best part: seeing elephants across the road in park during breakfast l!!
Side note: be careful about where you book in this area. The hotel we originally booked canceled on us day of when they found out we’d booked a safari through someone else (not them). We were lucky to find this current hotel who said it was our decision to book safari with them or not (although I’m sure their safaris are good too!).

We had a great time here! It's such a beautiful property and we ended up extending our stay. It was only us and one other group most of the time so it was very quiet and peaceful. The staff was so friendly and helpful and helped arrange a wonderful safari tour for us that was just myself and my partner. The pool is great, each room is spacious and looks over they jungle, and the food is pretty good. And they decorated our room for our anniversary.

- The cabin itself is really beautiful, overlooking the water. Very peaceful to sit outside and just listen to the birds and nature around. The room was very clean, had a working AC and a mini fridge. The location is definitely secluded, our driver had difficulties finding the place but if you’re staying 1 or 2 nights it’s not a big deal.
- Mila was nice and tried his best to make sure we’re comfortable. He provided the option for dinner there as well which is easier than leaving to town. Food was below average for Sri Lankan standards.

stay in a locals b&b and book a tour with a local guide. we stayed in a familt b&b and had this most amazing safar in the park for 4hrs with the son of the family we stayed with.. its cost s £20 each and has been one of the best things we ever did. our guide didn't follow all the other trucks and we go to see amazing animals up close and all on our own.

Amazing saw lots of elephants, around the reservoir bathing...
Amazing saw lots of elephants, around the reservoir bathing and eating and young ones playing and rolling. Also saw elephants randomly throughout safari. Saw Crocodiles basking, mongoose, water buffalo plus Peacocks , one displaying his full plumage to his Hen. Saw a great variety of birdlife including a large owl. Recommend 6.00 am start - GREAT EXPERIENCE

Great place to see wildlife, but too many jeeps charging around! Note some wildlife can be seen from the road beside the Reservoir in the evening when the animals come to drink. (We saw deer, water buffalo and elephants).
Visit the Elephant Orphans feeding station just outside the park.

I absolutely recommend this guest house during your visit to the Udawalawe National Park. Tiron and his family are very welcoming and the food is out of this world, our best rice and curry during our stay in Sri Lanka. Tiron can also arrange a Safari tour with experienced guide.
Absolutely fantastic place. For a more than a fair price you get SUPER clean rooms (travelled with family) and Gayan is a really great safari driver, knows all the spots and how to get everywhere first. Hotel is 1 min drive from the entrance of Udawalawe National Park. The breakfast prepared for the trip was delicious, nicely balanced. Oh, one more thing: lunch prepared for us after the safari was one of the best Sri Lankan food I’ve ever tried (and I’ve tried a lot). Thank you! Definitely recommend !!
beautiful and unique designed bungalows. very cool to stay after a safari. pool was also very nice. it is not far from Udawalawe national park but might be slightly outside the normal 5 km distance that safari providers usually pick up from for free. not much farther outside of this range though and safaris can also be organized through the hotel directly instead. bathroom for each bungalow is very cool and unique and outside but not exposed you get a neat experience.
The treehouse is a beautiful experience for anyone wanting to enjoy a nice room surrounded by nature, very near the Udawalawe National Park. Ajith and the staff made sure we had an enjoyable stay, the hotel is in a calm area and it felt amazing being awakenes by the sound of birds and squirrels. Definitely would recommend this hotel !
Exceptional value for money very near to Udawalawe National Park. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious (and so much food) and the host even woke up at 5 am to provide us with coffee before our safari.
The room itself was comfortable and clean with a minibar full of drinks for purchase. I would definitely recommend this hotel!
