The owner of the property is so thoughtful. He met us when we arrived. Had snacks for us and even took us around the area to show us the river and grocery store.

We loved the area. steps from the Kamo River, which our kids loved playing in. Also a short walk to the Shimogamo Shrine. If you want a quieter place in Kyoto than the tourist hub than this is great. Also 1 block from a train station.
