Excellent staff, rooms are beautiful and well kept, great location & close to a subway station. Couldn’t recommend enough. Great experience all around. They hold onto your bags if you arrive prior to check-in/stay longer beyond check-out. Great assortment of complimentary drinks & bread/snacks throughout the day. Tons of great restaurants walking distance. FYI, you will have to be comfortable walking about 20 mins each way to Gion district/the major shopping area. We liked the walking because it was a nice way to explore Kyoto. The Staff made us feel extra special. Will stay here again!

Convenient, 5 minutes and three stops by subway from Kyoto station and it is just above the station. The rooms are quiet and beautiful. The common hot tub is wonderful. Staff is nice. Free pastries in the afternoon, free hors d'oeuvres and alcoholic drinks in the afternoon and evening. Convenient to several of the major attractions in Kyoto. This is my second time here and it is great.

You can purchase tickets for Nijo Castle online and do remember to take the full package which includes the tour of the palace (sorry, can't remember what it's called) which housed the Daimyo back then and has since been maintained. Very nice historical trip!

The first 4 floors are just museum floors - art, history of the castle, etc. If you just want to see the incredible panoramic view at the top get in the line for the elevator which skips those middle floors and goes to the 5th. Otherwise you will have to climb all the flight of stairs regardless if you want to see what's on them. Get there early though - the elevator line gets very long very quickly and the entrance line is just as bad. People start queuing up in line before it even opens.

The main part of the castle is closed and completely covered by scaffolding. There was no discount to the ticket or real acknowledgement of this at the entrance to the castle, so we felt pretty bamboozled by the time we walked in. It was a heck of a disappointment. The other sections of the grounds that were open were amazing, so I'm sure we would have loved the castle if we could go in it. The plum blossoms were also starting to bloom and they were stunning.

Spacious rooms. Good staff. Better rooms as compared to the rooms offered by other hotels in Japan. If you are planning, you can easily book without any other thoughts. Also, it's near to Nijo castle and just one bus away from Kyoto station (28 mins).
I’d like to keep this place a secret, but here goes~
It’s a perfect as it was when we visited in 2019. It’s a few blocks from the Nijo Castle and Karasuma Oike subway station. It has a washer and a bathroom dryer, fridge, stove and a/c! There are at least 2 restaurants and a little shrine within a short 2 block walk. It has a neighborhood feel. The price is great!!!

Perfect upscale luxury rooms and the nicest Staff (who also spoke English). No problem holding our bags too. Great location, 5 minutes to subway and Nijo Castle. Quiet neighborhood too. Our first choice when we return.
