Unbeatable location and great shuttle service to and from the property. The building itself is large and is feeling its age, but is well maintained and staffed by very attentive attendants. I was really struck by how our premium room was half western and half traditional. Never stayed in a hotel quite like this.
Public bath on the ground floor is clean, well maintained and got plenty of use during our stay.
Visitors opting for the full meal program will be treated with excellent Japanese breakfast and Dinner. The portions are generous, and the menu varies from day-to-day. It's worth noting that if you opt for a Western breakfast you are going to be dissapointed.

The view was beautiful from our room. Loved the kimono robes they give you to wear. The shampoo bar was such a great touch. Everyone was very nice including the restaurant staff. I would stay here again and recommend to others.

We booked the room with a sea view and got a good view of the Itsukushima Jinja torii on Miyajima. The room was well equipped and had yukata and other necessities provided for a great onsen experience. The public baths were good, and we also booked the private onsen for 45 minutes in the evening and got to enjoy complete privacy and comfort and a magnificent full moon over Miyajima while soaking in the natural spring water - probably the best onsen experience we've had in Japan so far! The traditional Japanese dinner was a superb nine-course affair and although breakfast was a buffet style, we still got all the traditional Japanese dishes as well. The hotel lobby, lounge, terrace and other public areas were nicely designed and all the staff were very helpful.

Superb location, with the sea view. Nice breakfast
Centrally located in Nakanocho of Miyajima Island, just a 5-minute walk from Miyajima Ferry Terminal, Miyajima Hotel New Kotobuki is a peaceful accommodations with air conditioning and free WiFi...
I booked my room @ 3rd floor with Sea view is simply an awesome decision.
The room was spacious and superbly clean.. tatami was really comfortable as well.
Staffs at front desk are so welcoming, warm & helpful. The location itself is just amazing. About 8 minutes walk to the ferry pier and also 7 mins walk to the famous Itsukushima Shrine with the floating gate (Torii).
I strongly recommend this hotel to everyone.
The staff were lovely, attentive and very accommodating.
Provided meals were excellent and the food was plentiful.
Futon were comfortable and the room was quite nice.
Across the road from Miyajima Aquarium.
Itsukushima Shrine is very close so it's a great location for accessing the shrine away from peak crowds.
The hotel is in a wonderful location, just on the other side of Itsukushima Shrine, which makes for a scenic 20-minute walk from the ferry. (They have a free mini-bus, but I think the walk was better!) Both the traditional Japanese dinner and the breakfast were wonderful, as was the overall atmosphere of the hotel. Great for a one or two night stay on Miyajima Island.
The hotel is literally just a few meters away from the island's main attraction, the Itsukushima Shrine. The rooms not only have beds, but also feature a traditional tatami section, and they even provided Yukatas!
Additionally, the onsen was great as it stays open late, providing a great way to relax after a long day of walking.
A nice traditional ryokan with the option for western type beds. Rooms were very big. Although the rooms were a bit dated, everything was clean. The onsen was great. Food was really good. Service was also great. Location is very good and close to the Itsukushima Shrine. I really recommend staying at the Miyajima Island. After the last ferry you have the island almost completely to yourself.
Located in serene and quiet location on Miyajima! surrounded by lush forest. Rooms felt like traditional Japanese ryokan. Was clean and staff were friendly. There is shuttle bus that can pick you up from the Miyajima station (had to use the pay phone to contact them which was easy). Onsen is public but was not crowded. Close walk to Itsukushima shrine as well as cable car up to top of mountain.
The view at Sakuraya was amazing! I had a gorgeous view of the ocean and sky. There is also an excellent curry oyster bread stand right next to the hotel that I really loved. The hotel itself is in a great location. Close to Itsukushima Shrine and the ferry dock.
Custom made breakfast for my vegetarian needs. Absolutely delicious. complete Western breakfast. Yoko kept an eagle eye from a distance on the customers needs.
Pickup from the ferry landing. Easy walk to the centuries old Itsukushima Shrine and the famous torri gates
The location was in easy walking distance to Itsukushima Shrine, the Miyajima Ropeway, and the shopping district. They have a free shuttle for pickup and drop off from ferry terminal. They have outdoor foot baths, a relaxing indoor & outdoor communal bath, and a room with a beautiful view of the shrine’s Torii gate. The staff were all friendly and helpful!
