The museum visit was a surprise.
Did not have chance to try the breakfast. Need to book 1 day in advance. Either we slept late or needed to go out early so could not confirm in advance. Will try next time.

The staff were amazing, from a warm welcome to thoughtful touches in the room like a hand written welcome card. The room was enormous and so comfy with views of the mountains. The hotel was close to all the sites but away from the hustle and bustle and it was very well priced

If you have not seen snow monkeys before, then you can see these little guys here. The walk up to the park was hot and arduous in 30C heat. It's a steep incline that does tale 20-30 minutes. At the top, there were not that many monkeys, however, the view over Kyoto is pretty special. Still glad I went, but if you have seen the monkeys in Nagano/Yudaka at Jigokudani, you can give these guys a miss.

Was amazing and a MUST do. I wont hold back the walk up is a KILLER. Make sure take water. Doable but no for feint hearted. There are stops along the way so if have time to take the time to get to the top highly recommend. Monkeys are amazing in natural habitat and views to die for.

My daughter is very careful about the places she visits as often feels the animals are exploited. She was very pleased with the monkey park, it was well run. The walk up to it is 15mins and not difficult.

Be careful if you are older.
Be careful if you are older. Early stairs step up at the beginning caused first man from our group dropped and returned to hotel. Then, 2 more dropped out after 2nd stop. Only 2 left could make it to the top. However, if you can make to 2nd stop, don't give up. It's only about 8 minutes' walk up.

Prepare for a steep climb into the mountains but you will be rewarded with some great sights and sounds of monkeys in their, somewhat, natural habitat. Def worth going inside of the cage and spending a few yen to feed them
