We checked in with a very professional and polite young lady. We had a small but cozy room on the first floor. Property was immaculate. We had a large, comfortable bathroom with great hot water. The building offers great security with door codes to get in. The dining area downstairs was lovely with art work and beautiful table settings. They offer a delicious cold cut buffet with breads, pastries, fruits, veggies, cereals, juices, tea, and coffee machine. They also have a chiller available with beers, wines, and sodas that can be purchased. The location has a small grocery just steps away and a delicious pizza restaurant within a short walking distance. They have their parking lot just a few steps outside the front door. Easy to get luggage in and out. They have delicious chocolates! Would definitely stay here again.

The location was great. The building is located in walkable neighborhood within a half mile of most of the main downtown attractions. It is next to a theatre, an art gallery, and a unique library with many hidden gems to discover. The building was comfortable. I read reviews that the accommodations were hot, which is not unreasonable given the historic nature of the building. We visited in late September and were very comfortable in the room.

Don't bother with this tourist trap!
Don't bother with this tourist trap! Stick to the city centre and head up the tower at Hallgrimskirkja Church. Whilst it isn't as high as The Pearl we got an even better view of Reykjavik from here and at a far more reasonable price.
Hallgrimskirkja Church cost us £18 for 2 adults and 1 child with no travel cost as we were in the centre. It cost us £26 for a return taxi to Perlan and £46 for tickets just for the observation deck and we were hugely disappointed - an absolute 'is this it?!' moment. A huge waste of money and an even bigger waste of time!

The planetarium show is interesting, but the rest of the 'museum' is about climate change. Good if you're interested in that, but I've heard it all so many times before. The ice tunnel is like walking through an old refrigerator freezer--water sprayed on metal walls and frozen.

Loved the ice cave since we weren't able to go in a real one. Theater gave great info re northern lights and history. Rooftop gave a beautiful view of the whole city and area. Enjoyed some down time having a snack and did some souvenir shopping. So glad we found The Pearl.
