The location was just stunning, staff were overall really friendly and welcoming and helpful. The restaurants were lovely and we had some really yummy food and drinks. The spa was absolutely incredible and just what we needed after and long hike. An amazing stay and can’t wait to go back.

Lovely to arrive by motor launch from Keswick.
Lovely to arrive by motor launch from Keswick. Said to be a Sunday Afternoon stroll you might find it a bit tough for Grandparents. Fantastic views on a clear day (that's a day when it isn't rain, snow or Cloud Down) so be patient and read the weather forecast.

We were upgrade to a large room with a lake/mountain view at no extra cost. The breakfast lady is worth her weight in gold! So cheerful and welcoming. Great location for walking Cat Bells and around the lake. Only 20 minute walk into Keswick; take a torch! Good breakfast. Lovely Christmas decorations.
The buffet breakfast was delicious and excellent value for a tenner.
The view from the room was lovely.
The hotel was very well placed a mile from Keswick (walk across the fields) and a mile and a half from Cat Bells.
The accommodation and hosts were very welcoming. The whole place was very clean. Breakfast was served quickly and was tasty. The parking was easy, and the location allowed me to walk to the centre of town within a couple of minutes, but was located such that I was not in the thick of the crowds and bustling high street. The views from room 5 (single room) were dreamy with the spectacular sunset setting itself behind Cat Bells and Causey Pike.
Location and setting great and surprisingly better internally than we expected having viewed from the road in the previous month. Exterior could be enhanced and paintwork, roof and guttering etc freshened up. Good bar area and dining area with good views and comfortable seating in both the restaurant and the extensive seating areas. Internal fittings and furniture and curtains and shower really good. Great walks available from the doorstep including immediate access to Cat Bells.
Wonderful location, excellent views of cat bells and Skiddaw. Large windows with heated seating (if and when required), framed the view of the fells perfectly. Large rooms and large bathroom with bath and separate shower. Rooms clean and staff very accommodating.. Breakfast choices were excellent.
