The location is excellent for visiting the Cathedral and town (1 minute away).

The staff are excellent, respectful and do whatever they can to provide.
Clean rooms and areas, very old world style but very nice.

Absolutely beautiful.
Absolutely beautiful. If you are Catholic, there is a Catholic church nearby to cover your obligations. However, you can also attend the services here to enjoy their inspiring chorus, homily, and venue. It is very well organized. The homily truly captured the message of Jesus. The message of love and good tidings. Absolutely fantastic

Ir is no doubt a wonderful cathedral BUT access was only through a retail style info centre and a hard sell for the £15 entry fee (even for the outside) seemed excessive! There were scaffolding and large scale building works operating (for a few years we gathered!...) Try Norwich if you want a more friendly (Free) Cathedral and Close surroundings!

It is built on so many different levels, unlike most Cathedrals which have a long aisle/chancel and then the altar, this has a long view along the main body, then steep steps to another level, and more steps up to the distant altar.
The windows are dark, and let in little light.
What also struck us was the way that strange broken pieces of stone carving were part of the structure, and had not been replaced/repaired: which looked so strange in a Cathedralmof such importance.

I got some stunning photos of the outside as it was a lovely sunny day. It is a huge building, beautifully kept, with too many interesting things to take in all at once. Not only is there the inside of the building, but you can also walk round the outside and see some historical buildings in the precincts. Do allow plenty of time to see everything, it's well worth it.

Very convenient location ( just a few minutes walk from Canterbury West Railway Station, Canterbury Central Bus Station, Canterbury Cathedral, King's Mile etc.);
host's proactive advance communication to locate and access the property; cleanliness - the flat was spotless; the host's attention to detail and thoughtful little touches to enhance our experience of the stay - the welcome message on the board, the multiple mobile phone charging points etc;
Once you realize you have stepped back in time and on the doorstep of Canterbury Cathedral and surrounds, you are transported back in time to tight staircases and sloping floors- it all adds to the experience! The breakfast is superb and Rob and staff were so helpful. It was the best way to start our UK holiday!!
The suite I had booked was small and cosy and absolutely tidy, with a comfortable bed and no noises to be heard in the bedroom at night. In the bathroom, there was a rainfall shower and a sufficient number of towles of all sizes, as well as different kinds of products, like soap and shampoo. Check-in was easy and Laura was very helpful, when there was a problem.
Number 8 is close to the High Street, so you have all kinds of shops, restaurants, tea rooms and coffee places nearby. And it is only a five minutes walk to Canterbury Cathedral.
Lovely peaceful location on a very interesting well landscaped campus with good facilities. There are wonderful views of Canterbury cathedral from parts of the campus. Canterbury is a lovely historic city, and quite walkable at just over a mile away.
Comfortable rooms, great service by staff and a good selection on the menu for breakfast... This hotel is close to the centre of town for visiting Canterbury Cathedral and within easy walking distance to good restaurants.

The worldwide renowned Canterbury cathedral is worth the visit, although the ticket is not exactly cheap. It stands out as a magnificent example of gothic architecture, and it is definitely worth the visit to the city by its own. Despite being small, the town center is pleasant to walk along, and there are dozens of nice restaurants to enjoy at night.
