This is such a cozy and elegant hotel in the most perfect central location! We came for Christmas markets and just had to walk about one minute to the town square! The staff was friendly and helpful. The whole hotel has a very elegant feel to it. Our room was clean, and we slept so well. Amazing shower! The breakfast was the best we had on our trip though Czech. We parked for a small fee, and it was super easy and right out the door. Lovely and delicious options! We absolutely would stay here again.

The hotel was directly at the main plaza, giving it a great location and making it possible to walk anywhere in the city center on foot no problem.
Furthermore the rooms were quite spaceous and the beds comfortable. I would say price wise it was fair.

It was a quick 13-minute walk from the main railway station. The breakfast selection was decent considering the price you pay. The pillows on the bed were large and fluffy.

Přemysl Otakar II Square
Almost as old as the town itself, Premysla Otakara II Square has been the hub of České Budějovice for centuries. Renaissance and Baroque structures line each aspect, with the impressive Town Hall dominating the southwest corner. The ‘erratic boulder’ – an oddly-shaped cobblestone marking the old gallows – is found by the fountain. Cross it at night and legend says you’ll never find your way home.

This is the largest square in Europe and where the Americans met the Russians on New Years Day, 1945. The Grand Hotel Zvon was used by the American general as a base. Look for the erratic stone a few feet south-east of the fountain. This large stone dates back to the 1200s and was left in place when they redid the stones in the 1800s. Legend says if you step on it after midnight, you won't find your way home until the sun rises.
