We had to stay in Semporna for one night before getting our flights back to Kota Kinabalu the next day and we couldn’t have wished for a better place to stay. We have two kids and the environment was such a contrast to the chaos and business of the town centre. We arrived late afternoon and the kids spent most of the time in the pool. Unfortunately we were unable to get dinner on Grab due to driver availability and Jay the owner’s son was so kind he let us help ourselves to the bread and spreads in the kitchen. The best part for me was the shower. The shower was amazing. Semporna needs more of Chan Living Inn.

The area is popular for snorkelling and diving. The inn also offers car hire. Tawau Airport is 90km from the property. We loved staying here. You need to rent a scooter or a bike to get to the city or around ‘cause no facilities nearby but otherwise it’s a very nice and peaceful place. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They also organise day trips or longer stays on the nearby islands.

The room was comfortable for what we needed. The location was perfect, close to the airport and on the way to sepilok and sandakan town. We recommend this hotel as a base when arriving or departing from Sandakan.
