Short drives to Hadrians wall or the Northumberland coast and the pretty towns of Otterburn and Bellingham. Beautifully decorated rooms with private bathrooms. Free parking out front on street. Lovely little bar with friendly staff and locals. Breakfast room and restaurant/cafe is gorgeous and a decent breakfast is included in the room price. It's the quintessential cozy, 'old England' that one thinks of when wanting to holiday here. We love it. (Notes: only here two nights so we didn't think about finding out whether there is anywhere to do laundry, and of course there are no self-catering facilities, although apparently there is a BBQ, but we chose to eat out so didn't ask to use it)

Great location, great food, great hosts, friendly locals, a really lovely place full of old world character, would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.
