They provided a top-notch stay and made sure you had everything you needed. There is no shortage of anything. Meals were home cooked tasty meals and certainly not minimal on size. You can tell Sarah and David take great pride in what they offer and make everyone feel welcome. My husband is still raving about the egg and bacon sandwich, says it was the best he had in over 30 years if ever. I am a little jealous I didn't get one. Outstanding, 11 out of 10 !!!

Featuring a shared lounge, Teviotside Travel Inn Ltd is located in Hawick in the Borders region, 26 km from Melrose Abbey and 42 km from Traquair House. The inn features family rooms. It felt like home rather than a hotel. Lovely lounge to sit in. Staff very easy to contact by phone. Immaculate presentation.

The Tushielaw Inn has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Selkirk. Located around 35 km from Melrose Abbey, the inn is also 23 km away from Traquair House. We did not realise the hotel was 15 miles from the town of Selkirk, (we were on a hiking trip) but the owner immediately offered to come and pick us up. The restaurant was closed because of her birthday, but she invited us to join the party and offered us a free meal. The only thing we had to do in return was sing karaoke:-) We had a lovely evening with very friendly people!

Set in Galashiels, The Salmon Inn features a terrace, bar and free WiFi throughout the property. Guests can have a drink at the snack bar. At the inn, every room has a desk and a flat-screen TV. Excellent hotel have no bad points at all.

Situated in Eddleston, in the picturesque Scottish Borders, The Horseshoe Inn features an award-winning restaurant and elegant bedrooms with free Wi-Fi. There is also free parking. The rooms were in a separate building from the bar/restaurant so were quiet. Nice room with king size bed with bath & shower. Nice finishing touches like robes, toiletries & irn bru & tunnocks caramel wafers. Also umbrellas at the entrance for guest use (ideal when it rained during most of our visit). Bed was really comfy & room clean. Staff really friendly & helpful. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Located in Eyemouth, Cutty Sark Inn offers beachfront accommodation a few steps from Eyemouth Beach and provides various facilities, such as a garden and a bar. There was no breakfast but they told me that. The location was right by the beach and you could hear the waves.

George and Abbotsford features a garden, shared lounge, a restaurant and bar in Melrose. There is a sun terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. Facilitirs snd situation great and vrry friendly anf helpful staff. A lovely few days

Set in St Boswells, this award-winning country Inn dates back to 1836. Breakfast menu was fantastic. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room and en-suite was lovely. Garden was beautiful.
