Rhea's Inn, hotel in Middletown

Just 1 mile from downtown Newport, this Middletown inn offers free Wi-Fi and uniquely decorated rooms that feature cable TV. Aquidneck Shopping Center is 1 mile away.

This was not what I expected. There was a misunderstanding with the door lock. Nobody was on the premises to assist. I had to contact property management and proceeded to get the run around from 3 different people. I was told the manager was coming to only find out he was at a wedding and couldn’t come with a key. I was not accommodated at all. The tv remote didn’t work. There was a noise in the wall. In 20 years of coming to Middletown/Newport every summer..this was my first stay and last here. I’m disgusted and disappointed. I travel here every summer and will not return here.

Almondy Inn Bed & Breakfast, hotel in Middletown

Located in Newport, a 14-minute walk from King Park Beach, Almondy Inn Bed & Breakfast has accommodations with a garden, free private parking and a shared lounge.

I read many reviews for different places to stay in Newport leading up to our proposal vacation. We usually stay in a hotel but the wonderful reviews for the Almondy Inn and the hope for a romantic stay led me to try something different and book a bed and breakfast. It turned out to be the best booking I ever made. Many reviews noted how great the innkeepers John and Laurence were during their stay. Not only did they meet those expectations, but they exceeded in every way. John was helpful literally seconds after walking in the door by talking about the plans for the proposal with me and helping me verify the proposal plan his vast knowledge of the area. Both John and Laurence were helpful throughout our stay by offering great ideas for places to enjoy dinner and sights to see. They also were amazing hosts during Laurence’s amazing breakfasts and during any time of the day when we needed anything at all. The location of inn was also great. So many shops and restaurants were in walking distance. We stayed in the Blue room which was very clean and cozy. The aesthetic of the inn and quietness were also very welcome. I vehemently recommend the inn for anyone looking for a great place to stay in Newport. We could not have asked for a better place to stay during such a wonderful weekend in our lives that we will never forget

What did we like? We loved, loved, loved the location! The Sea Breeze Inn is close enough to downtown Newport's shops and eats to get there conveniently, and yet it is far enough away from all that traffic and congestion so you can relax and enjoy some solitude. We also liked the fact that the windows in our room actually worked as windows are supposed to, letting in those great ocean breezes, and letting us breathe fresh air. We also liked the cooked to order breakfasts each morning.
