Lovely staff, homely down to earth pub, restaurant with rooms in a gorgeous quiet village but not remote. Fantastic view from Rm3 across Coquetvale/River Coquet to the hills/moors across the valley. Relaxing walk along the river. Even the locals in the pub were welcoming. The bed was gloriously comfortable too.

The room was exceptional, modern but with a nod to the old. The bathroom was way above average. The restaurant was one of the best we frequented on this trip and the breakfast was exceptional. The location was literally a couple of blocks from the side entrance to Alnwick Castle. Parking a bit tricky but we found a spot a street over. Might be tougher in high season. Easy walk into town where there were some nice little shops.

The Three Wheat Heads Inn in Thropton is an absolute delight! From the moment we arrived, the friendly staff made us feel incredibly welcome. The value for money is exceptional, with top-quality service and amenities at a great price. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent, featuring delicious and beautifully prepared dishes. The accommodation was wonderfully comfortable, providing a cozy retreat after a day of exploring. We couldn't have asked for a better stay and can't wait to return!
The room had a lovely view and a good bed, everything we needed was there.
The food for breakfast and dinner was excellent, and not expensive
Beautiful walk up to Simonside with great views
Wonderful staff, helpful and friendly. Good room. Food very good indeed with a wide choice at dinner and good breakfast. Lovely location, quiet with great views.
Lovely country inn. Very comfortable room looking over rolling countryside. Comfy bed. Had a nice meal in restaurant with a good menu. Great breakfast. Staff really friendly and helpful.
Great Staff and a lovely welcoming atmosphere. The Three Wheat Heads is a lovely old inn set in beautiful scenery and was a perfect base for visiting Craggside, Banburgh Castle and the Farne Islands. Breakfast was huge with everything on offer to eat that you could possibly want and the service was fast. We also had an evening meal here and it was extremely hearty and reasonably priced. The room was a good size with a spotlessly clean en-suite shower and the bed was comfortable.
The room was clean and spacious, and the breakfast was super-delicious. Superb hosts and we had dinner there as well - best meal in Northumberland.
