Dinner & breakfast food was well cooked as requested. We were seated in the bar area, which was devoid of other customers and felt quite chilly. An electric coal fire was present, but it was unclear if it was operational. The room, an extension to the traditional thatched pub advertised, lacked ambiance and did not feature the low ceilings that would have complemented the original structure. The decor and carpets appeared worn and seemed overdue for an update.

A characterful old Inn in a lovely location next to the river. The staff were superbly helpful, finding a safe space to store our bike indoors and helping us with our bags. The accommodation is away from the bar and restaurant. On site food is excellent, with a good choice for veggies. Breakfast options are also very good.
I had a very enjoyable stay at the Golden Lion which is a modernised tradional coaching inn. nice cooked breakfast as opposed to a buffet was a definite bonus. no car parking on site but local paid car parking is close by and very affordable at £4. Dinner was in the lounge bar or restatuant area. Good enough range of food including hanging Kebabs!
A charming inn, steeped in history, located in a beautiful riverside hamlet. The room was compact, but very comfortable and clean. The restaurant served excellent food and beer. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Luckily for us, this location was a clue in our photographic challenge and was a perfect place to stay.
The hotel was in a great location. It appears to have been refurbished recently and was spotless throughout. Staff were all super-friendly and welcoming. Our dinner was very good.
Breakfast was excellent, room was small but clean with an excellent shower. The location was rural which is what we wanted. All in all a very pleasant stay, in a very historic inn. Already booked for a months time.
