Very comfortable room (Newcastle Brown). Clean and well appointed. Serviced every day even though that was not essential. Well served with local amenities and an ideal location for our trip. Good provision of storage space and very helpful to have a functioning fan in the room. We are looking forward to returning next year. I found everything I needed for my stay.

We keep finding little gems like this one. They are in the process of upgrading the place and it will be lovely when the exterior is brightened up. The food was absolutely gorgeous and I hope the locals rediscover the restaurant.

A characterful old Inn in a lovely location next to the river. The staff were superbly helpful, finding a safe space to store our bike indoors and helping us with our bags. The accommodation is away from the bar and restaurant. On site food is excellent, with a good choice for veggies. Breakfast options are also very good.

I had a very enjoyable stay at the Golden Lion which is a modernised tradional coaching inn. nice cooked breakfast as opposed to a buffet was a definite bonus. no car parking on site but local paid car parking is close by and very affordable at £4. Dinner was in the lounge bar or restatuant area. Good enough range of food including hanging Kebabs!

A charming inn, steeped in history, located in a beautiful riverside hamlet. The room was compact, but very comfortable and clean. The restaurant served excellent food and beer. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Luckily for us, this location was a clue in our photographic challenge and was a perfect place to stay.

Breakfast was excellent, room was small but clean with an excellent shower. The location was rural which is what we wanted. All in all a very pleasant stay, in a very historic inn. Already booked for a months time.
