Location, location, location! Right in the middle of everything. The room was clean and quiet (I was concerned due to the rooms being above the pub). The breakfast choices were good and the food was excellent! All the staff we encountered were friendly, especially Henry. This hotel is a rare find and we would stay here again.

Quirky place. Helpful staff and clean rooms. Didn't want the roll top bath room and happily changed up to another room with no hassle.

From the moment I got there, the place, the location, the staff were all very friendly
The breakfast was absolutely delicious.
Jessica our waitress was so kind and thoughtful. Tyler cooked the most amazing eggy bread. The bacon was extra Smokey.
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening – distinguishing them from country or guest houses.
Both dinner and breakfast were very good, both food and service. The hotel was very old and characterful. The town was lovely and the location, being near Bath was ideal for us.
Staff were kind and helpful. The whole facility was beautiful and well-maintained, especially for such an historic building. The bar was excellent with beautiful outdoor seating and views, and the restaurant/food were incredibly good! We stayed specifically because it was such an old inn, and were pleased to discover every modern amenity you'd expect. We loved our stay and would highly recommend The George and the town of Norton St. Philip.
A fabulous historic Inn dating back to the 14th century, Staff are fantastic and so helpful, the rooms are fabulous, cosy and steeped in history.
Breakfast and evening meals were superb, as is the ale.
It was very exciting staying in such an historic inn. It felt like we were in a Shakespeare play! We loved the four poster bed, the interesting history, the furnishings and textiles, the bathroom, the rural view and even the sloping floor.
This was a lovely place to stay. We loved this historic inn which has character and history. The staff are very friendly and made us feel welcome. Breakfast was excellent and there is no problem with parking.
I had already visited the George. I'm a part-time history tutor, and I was working on a course that I called "Inns, Taverns, and Alehouses". It's the earliest example we have of an inn with separate rooms, accessible by a gallery. I took my Dad to show him.
