The Queens Arms Hotel Acomb, hotel in Newbrough

Stayed in room 2. Black hair found on shower wall and heating not working in bathroom. Shower water and pressure was good. After enquires was advised that heating would only come on from 4pm to 8pm. And it did - but the bathroom one did not come on. Stairs are quite narrow and steep so travel light when staying. Comfortable large room. Bed springs noisy but bed comfortable. Continental breaky provided was good.

The Bowes Hotel, hotel in Newbrough

Located in Bardon Mill, The Bowes Hotel has a restaurant, bar and free WiFi. The rooms include a desk and a TV, and some accommodations at the inn have a balcony.

First, the bed and pillows were maybe the softest, most comfortable I've ever experienced. Really. Next, the staff was amazing: friendly, congenial, informative, caring and responsive. Also, the bathroom and shower were first rate... best of our trip. The shower water always came out hot and strong! Also, the place was so very, very quiet. Lastly, the food served at the downstairs restaurant was really, truly good. We were so impressed with the Sauteed Mushrooms in Garlic Sauce on Chibatta... and the Sticky Toffee Pudding.

Very pleasant stay. The landlady was kind to order a taxi as the inn was still too far away to reach in time in the evening from Hadrian´s Wall. Great evening meal and breakfast. Very comfortable beds and a fantastic bathroom.
