The Dirty Bottles Inn, hotel in Alnwick

Located in Alnwick and with Alnwick Castle reachable within a 2-minute walk, The Dirty Bottles Inn has a terrace, allergy-free rooms, free WiFi throughout the property and a bar.

The room was exceptional, modern but with a nod to the old. The bathroom was way above average. The restaurant was one of the best we frequented on this trip and the breakfast was exceptional. The location was literally a couple of blocks from the side entrance to Alnwick Castle. Parking a bit tricky but we found a spot a street over. Might be tougher in high season. Easy walk into town where there were some nice little shops.

Lovely staff, homely down to earth pub, restaurant with rooms in a gorgeous quiet village but not remote. Fantastic view from Rm3 across Coquetvale/River Coquet to the hills/moors across the valley. Relaxing walk along the river. Even the locals in the pub were welcoming. The bed was gloriously comfortable too.

Everything! Honestly for the price we were so pleased - from the hospitality you meet at the front desk to the spacious and clean room - we loved it! The dinner downstairs was also amazing - food had so much flavour! I can’t fault it the stay was amazing.

Loved the decor of the whole place and the comfy bed. The dressing gown, slippers and quality toiletries all gave this a special feel. The roast dinner and cocktails from the restaurant were all really nice and all of the staff very pleasant.

Big clean room and bathroom. Very quiet. Plenty of choice for breakfast but same dinner menu the 3 nights we were there so we went out for 2 of them. Drinks prices very expensive. Due to unexpected problems at home we had to leave at 5.a.m.on our final morning but the night porter was most understanding and explained that we would be contacted by the hotel re paying our outstanding bill.

The property is in a fabulous location, perfect for a quiet holiday away from towns and hustle and bustle. Guests booking should be aware it is a lovely traditional guest house and not like a Premier Inn. You are actually staying in someones home and there are pets and lots of ornaments about. There is a large garden at the property which is great to sit out in. The hosts Jenny and Adrian are most friendly and welcoming and made our stay wonderful.

The holiday home was ideally situated for all the local amenities, especially the Alnwick Garden and the Market Tavern for two excellent dinners. The arrival pack and stock of spreads and jams ensured no starvation whatever time one arrived.
