A really wonderful experience staying here! The view from the balcony is mesmerizing and the atmosphere around the property is enchanting. It’s also only half an hour walking distance from the Iltios station which will take you directly to Chäserrugg and I highly recommend the walk. I mostly enjoyed the chat with the owner, who is really nice and friendly. She was kind enough to share her recent travel experience to China with me (yes I am Chinese).

Everything about this hotel is great, but the biggest contributing factor to our satisfaction is with the level of service and care that we received from the General Manager overseeing his family's property. He (Mathias) is one of the finest hospitality professionals I've met and was unbelievably thoughtful and inclusive with me and my kids. The location for Appenzell is perfect...no noise, easy to walk everywhere, and a beautiful facility from the basement to the top floor.

I enjoyed my stay. Karoline is very nice and welcoming. I was leaving for hikes early morning, and therefore was not able to make it to breakfast, and she packed tasty sandwiches for me for everyday. I had simple but cozy room under the roof, it was sufficient for me, with private toilet and bathroom. Location is great. Possibility to purchase Oskar card is great and I was very glad for this option.
