We Avanos we grew up as the family's well-known figures from the postman Wisdom from our guests in this mansion care in their own homes as well as our staff need to request our yaklaşıyoruz.değerl friendly as well as we have been making our best.

Property info

About Us The mansion, consisting of two parts which are located in north and east edges of a rectangular coutyard was built of local hewnstone. The edifice in the east side is single storey whereas the other is double storied. According to the inscription ,where ‘Masallah’ is written, the mansion was built in 1859. Contrary to the houses in the neighbourhood, there is a historical well which reflects the ancient times well in the midst of the courtyard. The mansion reflecting the culture and history of the district with its unique architecture, was used as infirmary during the Independence War. Later on, it became a home for Hikmet Cingi- a famous postman in Avanos- and his family. The name of the mansion originates from these dwellers. In 2013, the mansion was restored by native hands and craftsmen protecting the former structure and observing the architectural characteristics of the region. In 2014, our mansion ,preserving its authentic structure, has started to deal out and accomodate with 5 comfortable pretty rooms.

Avanos And Hikmet Cingi Mansion Avanos is a town and district of Nevşehir Province. It is located 18 km north of Nevşehir. Avanos was called asVenessa,Zuwinasa or Ouenasa in ancient times. Ceramic trade in this district, in which there are countless pottery factories, dates back to the Hittites. In 1926 during the period of inventigations in Boğazköy Hittite Kingdom, Emilie Forrer drew attention to the word ‘Zu-Winasa’ in a tablet. The studies of Nicole Thierry have pointed out that ‘Nenesa’ and ‘Zu-Winasa’ were transformed into ‘Avanos’ and‘Venessa’. In Ottoman documents the name has been mentioned as ‘Enes’ or ‘Evenez’. A marbled sarcophagus found in a Roman tomb in the immediate vicinity of Avanos has held the key for being unique in Cappadocia. This sarcophagus got noticed by chance in 1971. In archeological excavations carried out by Prof. Gökberk in Sarılar, a town of Avanos, many ruins belonging toBronze Age and Late Roman Period have been found. In Avanos, Alaaddin Mosque and Sarıhan Caravanserai dating back to Seljuks, 13. Century, carry weight. It is an absolute pleasure to have you at our mansion which is a reflection of this historical district.
