Rustic Country home – the house stands just above the unique Karst field of Planina, which is flooded in fall and winter and turns into Planina periodic lake. The house stands alone on the edge of the forest that makes the location very peaceful, perfect for relaxing, and an ideal getaway. The apartments are located in the mansard part of the house, which is a freshly renovated traditional Slovenian farm house. You may choose use our open terrace, where you can relax and also cook or grill your meals. On the karst field flows the river Unica which offers a lot of activities for fisherman (trout, umber, pike,kajak ,kanu etc.). Very nice for photographers.The landscape around the field also offers cycling tracks, hiking paths, hunting grounds (please contact hunting societies nearby), potholing, cave-scuba diving, climbing and more. In wintertime we recommend you to visit our ski resort Cerkno, which is about 50km away from our farm house.Sometimes when is a lot of rain (autum and spring) our field become a lake . You can see on pictures than comes very beautyful.An intermittent lake is a type of lake that is occasionally filled with water and part of the year is dry.
Mrs. Nada Šefic, the owner, is passionate about art and has opened an art gallery, where you can buy her work. Her artwork is famous for unique style of relief paintings in Slovenia. In the gallery you can also find handmade jewelry, by her middle daughter inspired by native Indians from Mexico. Her daughters lives in nature in Mexico. The youngest daughter learned to make Indian themed jewelry with semi-precious stones, also she is avid motorcycle rider, so you can plan for trip with her and she can show you the beauty of Slovenia. If you like to have a party here, you can rent a DJ and sound system. Our daughter is a DJ, and step aerobics and swim, fitness, zumba instructor. We have also bioenergetic therapyst . If you need a local tour guide or information about the local area, she is available to assist you with your needs.
The house stands alone without neighbors, the closest is 2 km away. It is safe location. Located below the house is nice trail for walking. The nearest shop for food is 4 km away, the tourist region is 12 km away (Postojna cave)., Predjama castle is 18 km away, Idrija mine is 30 km away, Ljubljana is 38 km away...Oround house is plenty interesting points. (cave Planina 4 km, Rakov Apart from that, there are approximately 17 Karst caves nearby: - Planina cave 5 km- 4-5 hour boat tour, - Križna cave 35 km- boat tour (11 lakes inside), - Postojna cave 12 km, - the castle of Predjama and cave 15 km, - Rakov Skocjan (sightseeing) 8 km, - Škocjan cave 38 km, Cerknica lake 12 km, other sightseeing: - castle Sneznik 30 km, - Idrija 35 km- mercury mine, - Lipica-traditional lipizzan horses- 38 km, - Piran-medieval coast town 70 km, - Lake Bled, glacial lake 80 km , Lake Bohinj, glacial lake 90 km, - Ljubljana-capital city of Slovenia, roman/medieval downtown and castle-38 km. – Mountain bike park Javornik (MTB freeride, downhill) 30 km - Hot springs 70 km. - Soca valley(rafting, canyoning) 50 km away. Venice is 200km from us highway .We also organize trips for motorcycle enthusiast.
