I am a retired medical officer and my husband is an ex-tea planter. We take extra care to make sure that our guests have a memorable stay. We take pride in pioneering cinnamon cultivation in the area and introducing an environment-friendly, profitable alternate crop, to the villagers in the area. Our hobbies are agriculture and horticulture. In addition, we help needy children in numerous ways to pursue their educational goals.

Mailagama is laid back village situated in the country side in Kataragama. Mailagama Cinnamon Residence (MCR) is surrounded by paddy fields and has a view of the sacred mountain Wadahiti Kanda, in the distance. With its simple beginnings as a beautiful abode amidst a plantation, we’ve done much over the years to make it what it is today. Our belief in creating a perfect blend of nature, and human endeavor is continuing to this day. Beyond the continuing, it’s the dedicated staff who nurture the essence of MCR. It’s their authenticity and commitment that leaves smiles in every guest. Enjoy freshly prepared meals, go on safari, hike, visit the sacred pilgrim sites, and enjoy the abundance of hospitality of our friendly and helpful staff. Further, visit our cinnamon plantations, tour the Spice Trail, and get hands-on experience with cinnamon processing. MCR has six beautifully appointed bedrooms with all amenities, including attached toilets, hot water, AC, TV, and protective fly mesh. MCR is an ideal location to visit the Yala National Wildlife Park which is only 30 minutes away.We provide takeaway meals to enjoy while inside the park. Further, the MCR is a convenient stopover for guests traveling to and from the East Coast. Echo yourself on the flora and fauna, fruit trees and herbs, pleasant shades, refreshing breeze, and many more treats to the five senses. Find comfort and conveniences indoors and spend time among good company. Peaceful personal times doesn’t get any better than this.
