“Izu Peninsula” has beautiful breathtaking nature. This magical place is off the beaten track and we want to open access to this place. Opening a low cost guesthouse will provide the overnight stays usually required to fully appreciate the peninsula. From Shuzenji it takes at most 40 minutes to get to west Izu, 75 minutes to south Izu, the tip of the peninsula, and 50 minutes to east Izu. This is the “knot” we refer for Hostel Knot. Also there is a direct express bus from Tokyo to Shuzenji, which is another “knot” to access between the Izu Peninsula and the Kanto region. In the neighbourhood Izu Velodrome was the venue for bicycle track competition of Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020. Also recently gaining attention from overseas.

I've had some experiences before I started this hostel. Just one of them, my perspective on life had changed dramatically with the encounter of lots of people at the hostels while traveling in New Zealand. Upon returning home, I started to plan to build a hostel in my hometown, Izu, the place where I grew up. Because I wanted to provide a place where I, myself would be the knot of encounter.

Located in Shuzenji Onsen, Izu, Shizuoka, also known as “Little Kyoto”, a physical center of the Izu Peninsula when considering transport connections. The onsen town itself has a history of over 1200-years and it is said to be the oldest in the Izu Peninsula. Izu has a sort of vibe that helps people get away from the busy lifestyle or just a stop to relax and enjoy the onsen before going to your next destination.
