# # BEST PRICES ARE BY CONTACTING US DIRECTLY ON OUR WEBSITE ## 45 John Street was originally the Harbour Masters House so all the bright, spacious bedrooms come with superb sea views looking over Graemsay lighthouse and up towards Scapa Flow. All the bedrooms are ensuite. and have amazing views. Our delicious breakfasts are served in the attractive ground floor lounge looking out towards the harbour. My breads, oatcakes, jams and tattie scones are all home made with many extras.
We have been in the hospitality industry for more that 20 years and have enjoyed welcoming guests to Orkney. We have a vast knowledge of the island and can always assist in making your holiday the best experience. So we welcome you once again with open arms to this friendly, family run B&B with loads of character, comfortable rooms and fabulous homemade breakfasts to suit most dietary requirements. There are many satisfying sides to running a bed and Breakfast. I enjoy meeting people from all over the world, finding out about their lives, their goals and ambitions. I thrive on making sure everyone has an amazing holiday, not just to our establishment, but the whole Orkney experience. We have a vast knowledge of local historical sites to share with all our guests to ensure that they do as much as possibly can during their trip. We are keen walkers and own a dog which we take on our holidays. It is therefore natural for us to welcome well behaved dogs at the B&B. Advanced notice is essential There is a charge for a dog per evening . Please ensure your pooch has a bed, a towel to dry off with. We will ensure you have a relaxing, adventurous holiday in Orkney we are always available for guidance and advice.
45 John Street is centrally located in the historic town of Stromness. The ferry and bus terminal are 100yrds opposite the B&B. The bus service is regular and reliable so very convenient for visiting historical sites if you are on foot. Gift shops, craft exhibitions , restaurants and cafes are just a short stroll along the bustling street. The famous Pier Arts centre and the local museum are also worth a visit A hike up Brinkies Brae, an evening stroll around the harbour or a long walk along the West shore towards the golf course are also a delight. Further afield we have Standing stones of Stenness, Ring of Brodgar, Skara Brae and Skaill House all within 5 mile radius. Please book in advance online as they get extremely busy.
