Built in 1896 in the Art Nouveau style, the historic Jugendstilhotel Paxmontana, standing on a hill in a beautiful location in the Canton of Obwalden, has won many awards. The surrounding area is where St. Nicholas of Flüe (1417-1487), the patron saint of Switzerland, lived.
