Base Camp Anchorage Hostel is situated in Anchorage, 1.8 km from Sullivan Arena and 2.1 km from Dena'ina Civic and Convention Center. Nice place near downtown and other popular areas. You can buy stuff from amazon and they will save it for you (although it's $1 per day if you don't pick it up the same day). Breakfast is good though the dynamic is that they give you basic ingredients to make your own pancakes, then you have to cook them. In general I had a pretty good time over there.
