It wasn't the first time I stayed in this hostel, and each time I felt at home. The staff is amazing, great common areas with a jacuzzi outside and two kitchens well equipped ! But what I loved more than everything else is Blake, the hostel's cat, always asking for cuddles or food (in truth, mostly for food 😺).

Rotorua Downtown Backpackers is a modern hostel is located in the heart of Rotorua across the road from the I-Site and major bus lines. Great staff, Julian was very friendly and made us feel at home! The accommodation was clean and fresh.

These units have been in family for 3 decades and currently undergoing a major refurb. Although newly completed we felt very welcome and even with a few snagging things we loved our stay as we felt we were part of building new new experience.
