Newly opened and refurbished in October 2020, Wanderlust NZ is a waterfront hostel located in a historical building in downtown Tauranga. One of the nicest hostels I've been to! I loved the location, very beautiful building, and the terrace overlooking the bay is the perfect spot to have breakfast! Shout-out to the staff! They were so nice and helpful (especially Luciano), as a solo traveler it is much appreciated. The bathrooms and showers were clean, the dorms as well.

Featuring a garden, shared lounge, terrace and free WiFi, Crashpalace Backpackers is located in Rotorua, 4.5 km from Rotorua International Stadium and 12 km from Paradise Valley Springs. A great hostel in a great location. The staff are very helpful, and the people I met in the hostel were fantastic (both staff and other backpackers). Rotorua is a lovely place, and I extended my stay here for a total of two weeks because I was very comfortable sleeping here while searching for work. The room had lockers, and a desk that we all used on occasion. The shared space downstairs was comfortable, and the hostel even has a small library section, which I made good use of. The "owner" of the hostel is small, friendly and meows very loudly when he smells food. Pet him when you see him - it's the law.

Rotorua Downtown Backpackers is a modern hostel is located in the heart of Rotorua across the road from the I-Site and major bus lines. Staff very kindly let me check in early .place is very central.room was spotless

Situated in Mount Maunganui, 800 metres from Mount Maunganui Beach, Pacific Coast Lodge and Backpackers features accommodation with a shared lounge, free private parking, a terrace and barbecue... The atmosphere, the facilities, the staff. The beds are great, and they have a nice tv room and Ping pong table. Also they organize some fun activities regularly. It’s a great place to meet nice people :)

Smoke Lake Hot Springs Lodge and Camp is in the heart of Rotorua on the edge of the famous Kuirau Geothermal Park. We are a family run business and have been here for 38 years. The staff were super helpful really went above and beyond to support our stay with our 5 month old.

Situated in Tauranga, 13 km from ASB Baypark Stadium, Hugo & Carters Backpackers & Motel features accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a shared lounge. it was such a nice stay there. The people was so nice too
