Newly opened and refurbished in October 2020, Wanderlust NZ is a waterfront hostel located in a historical building in downtown Tauranga. It was very close to the main bus stops, the receptionist was very nice and tried to help with finding a job, had private bathroom in the room and large shared kitchens/lounges, while there were even shelves for the top beds to use without having to get down first.

Featuring a garden, shared lounge, terrace and free WiFi, Crashpalace Backpackers is located in Rotorua, 4.5 km from Rotorua International Stadium and 12 km from Paradise Valley Springs. The front desk staff were very helpful and mostly guest friendly too.

Rotorua Downtown Backpackers is a modern hostel is located in the heart of Rotorua across the road from the I-Site and major bus lines. The staff was super friendly and willing to help us any time. We felt really comfortable and everything was very well organized. I love that they explained how the hostel works when we arrived. And the kitchen and toilets always super clean and tidy.

Located on a quiet street opposite Blake Park, Seagulls Guesthouse offers free fibre WiFi and is a 5-minute walk from Mount Maunganui Beach. Excellent value for money. Spotlessly clean and very quiet. Only complaint is the pillows are quiet hard. We would definately stay again.

Located in Mount Maunganui, Pacific Coast Lodge and Backpackers is an award-winning hostel, located at 500 metres from the beach and next to Blake park. The atmosphere, the facilities, the staff. The beds are great, and they have a nice tv room and Ping pong table. Also they organize some fun activities regularly. It’s a great place to meet nice people :)

Situated in Tauranga, 13 km from ASB Baypark Stadium, Hugo & Carters Backpackers & Motel features accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a shared lounge. Hello there! Our stay with you was amazing. The room was perfect. The check-in was quick, and check-out system was pretty convenient because we left early in the morning. And I have to tell you that your towels and your bedlinen are just perfect, I really appreciate that kind of quality.

The centrally located Rock Solid Backpackers Rotorua offers free WiFi, a neighboring rock-climbing wall and a spacious guest lounge including a tour desk, a billiards table and a cinema. The facilities are great, spacious, and clean, the rooms are comfy, and the staff is amazing, just make us feel at home! (even though I got there to check in 5 minutes before they close, sorry guys 😬) And Thank you all :)

Stay Hostel Rotorua is located in Rotorua, 4.3 km from Rotorua International Stadium and 11 km from Paradise Valley Springs. The lady at check in was very nice and friendly. Bathrooms and showers were very private and clean. Everything was small but enough room to be comfortable. Extremely fast and reliable WIFI.

Featuring a garden and a shared lounge, Rotorua Central Backpackers is set in Rotorua. Free WiFi is provided. Rotorua is 700 metres from the hostel, while Papamoa is 49 km from the property. The kitchen was great....but they had homeless living there and that made it not so gooood. I would have said this was soooo great if I had not had to share a room with a homeless person that snored and covid cough all night. The location is amazing, the staff was WONDERFUL, the place was clean and I loved the PINK bathroom. BUt sadly NZ is NOT ready for tourism the tourist info closed indefinatley and nobody know whats happening or who to get anywhere, using the bus was a NIGHTMARE....
