We absolutely loved staying at Rancho Tranquillo. It is right across the lake so you can enjoy swimming and the sunsets. Daniella & Tony are very welcoming and friendly. We had a very delicious breakfast made by Daniella. Their property is also so great, there are all types of animals running around and you can pick fresh mangoes from their mango tree. They were also kind enough to let us leave some of our luggage so that we could rent a scooter more easily and travel around the island.

This hostel is a hidden gem in paradise. As soon as I got here I felt immediately relaxed. You feel in touch with nature. The room is very cozy as well and not too hot at night. Also, it’s really close to playa maderas.

La Urraca Loca Hostel has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Balgue. Featuring barbecue facilities, the property is located within 12 km of Maderas Volcano. Great location in Balgue and the place is surrounded by nature, and despite this it is very clean. The owners are super kind and you can sense their love for this place. Tasty breakfast (homemade bread) and food available at the hostel (good italian food for lunch and dinner as one of the owners is Italian!). They were happy to provide advice and information on what to do in the area. Communal space upstairs was amazing and relaxing. The chickens running around the garden was giving exactly the vibes you get around Ometepe Island. Loved it here.

Situated in Moyogalpa, 39 km from Maderas Volcano, Hostel Life is Good features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. I loved the atmosphere of the hostel. In the evening time they had candles everywhere and lights. It was so beautiful. They also have a lookout place where you can see the volcano during the day and stars at night time. It was a super quiet and chill place. They also had kitties which is a big bonus.

Situated in San Juan del Sur, 4.6 km from Christ of the Mercy Nicaragua, Casa de Olas Hostel features accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking and a shared lounge. Everything about this place is great. Best sunset you’ve ever seen. Our private room was huge, clean and very comfortable. Free breakfast is great and very chill atmosphere.

Located in Tola, a few steps from Playa Gigante, Monkey House Hostel provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. This place is one of the most beautiful places we have stayed so far in Central America. The views, the food, the coffee, vibe and staff are amazing. They have boards for rent or sale, kitchen is well equipped, path down the cliff to the beach, and comfortable beds. We loved that William really took the time to talk to and get to know us on our stay. So good that we didn’t want to leave!

I San Juan del Sur, 0 minutters gange fra Nacascolo-stranden, ligger the SPACE Jungle Oasis, som har et utendørsbasseng, gratis privat parkering, en hage og en restaurant. I love everything about this place, exactly what I needed as a relaxation in between work.

Hostel Julieta is set in Rivas, 33 km from Christ of the Mercy Nicaragua, and has a terrace. Free WiFi is available and private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. Clean hotel with great, friendly hosts. We used the hotel to go to Ometepe Island the next day. Had a room with air conditioning, very comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious and varied.
