Aark House is a compact hostel located within a 5-minute drive from Gangneung Train Station (Yeongdong Line). Free WiFi access is available in all areas. Heated blankets for our bunk bed were a cozy touch. The host was also very nice and gave us some recommendations for sights to see and where to eat - including a little fast food place nearby that's open late. Location was walkable to public transit and markets. Nice clean kitchen area and it was great having a desk and a spot to hang clothes in our room.

There is a bus stop within a 10-minute walk that leads to Seoraksan, and it takes 15-20 minutes to get to Seoraksan itself. Their magnificent black dog leaves special emotions, which you just want to hug!

There is a cafe on the ground floor, some restaurants around and the beach is very close by walking. The lake has a walking trail- it’s pleasant to do a walk in the evening.
