The staff is extraordinarily nice. Bath towels are provided for FREE! The beds are not noisy, unlike in some hostels I've stayed in. Breakfast was limited but enough, and of very good quality. A very subjective extra: An A-MA-ZING playlist played during breakfast!

The location is amazing! It is a 5 minute walk to the ferry terminal and less than 10 minutes walk to the main square! The view is incredible and you can walk directly across the road and down some steps to swim in the lake. The restaurant is very good and very cheap with a spectacular view! Easy 15 minute ferry ride to Varenna and 20 to Belaggio. For location and view, this is the best value for money I have found in Italy so far. I wish I had been able to stay longer.

NEW GENERATION HOSTEL COMO LAKE CENTER EXCELLENT LOCATION THE RIGHT ALTERNATIVE TO LUXURY HOTELS a 5-minute walk from the promenade, the boats to Bellagio near S Giovanni and Chiasso station FREE... Kitchen was FREEZING! Needs windows or walls. Need privacy drapes on dorm rooms. Too open to outside.
