Didn't feel like a hostel at all because of the privacy in the capsules. Capsules are good sized, equipped with TV, can be locked etc. The whole hostel has a great layout, check in system, facilities and all. The kitchen is professional grade with a walk in fridge. Location is great. The owners know how to run a hostel.

Facing the beachfront in Vatnsnes, Ósar Hostel has a shared lounge and a bar. The hostel offers both free WiFi and free private parking. Guest rooms at the hostel are fitted with a seating area. A standalone farm very close to Hvitserkur. The owner was very nice and talkative, even though we arrived 10-15 minutes late. Comfortable rooms, cosy common area. Also a chance to see the Icelandic horses from a close distance nearby. A really quiet, remote and pleasant place close to nature.

The house is in a great location, just a five-minute walk to the whale watching center. The decor has a charming, vintage feel, and the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. We loved the café on the corner, where the fresh fish soup and bread were some of the best we've ever had. Next door is a century-old cinema with a vintage projector. Everything was wonderful. Highly recommend!

Situated in central Akureyri, Akureyri Backpackers offers free Wi-Fi and rooms with access to shared bathroom facilities. A swimming pool and hot tubs are a 1-minute walk away. I like the idea of this kind of hostel and bar/pub. They have great customerservice, delicious meels and strong coffe. Place is spacious that guests of the hostel and visitors fom the street can find a cosy room for them to spend a very nice time.

Set in Kópasker, 25 km from Dettifoss, Bjarnastaðir Guesthouse offers accommodation with a shared lounge, free private parking, a terrace and barbecue facilities. Very quiet and very good guesthouse
