The room was cozy, and with only four guests, sitting down with the owners for dinner felt like a family dinner. The food was excellent, freshly made salads and specialty pizzas. Also loved the decor.

Located in Villafranca del Bierzo, 21 km from Las Médulas Roman Mines, Albergue de la Piedra features views of the river. I loved staying in this hostal for 2 days during my recent Camino. It was clean and spacious and airy - and it had regular beds (no bunk beds). It is just a few minutes walk from the main square in Villafrance del Bierzo. It has a kitchen, but I went out to the restaurants in the immediate area.
