There are alot of places to stay around the world, and most of them are in it for the money - but not this one. I had no real desire to go to Las Tunas, but after backpacking around Ecuador and Peru for a while, all of the favorite people I met on the road seemed to have the exact same recommendation: Go to Onda Hostel. So I texted the hostel owners on Whatsapp, where they proceeded to be somehow genuinely interested in answering my millions of questions over text before I arrived, arranging for transport, and even picking me up a massive guanabana just because I casually mentioned once I'd like to try it. The beds are comfortable, the A/C is cool, and the coffee is endless, but it's truly the people that make this place great. The owners are passionate about building a community and they instill that same stoke in their volunteers. If you're looking to stay in a place with some atmosphere, there is none greater in the Americas. I booked at this hostel for two days and stayed on for weeks, only leaving because I had to. To my new friends that I've made at Las Tunas - Thank you, and I'll be back soon!

The greatest and most romantic accomodation in Ecuador we have stayed at. Super nice and helpful staff with great English, super beautiful garden (kind of private jungle), beautiful, clean and equipped bungalows, greatly equipped facilities. Recycling, a book full of local tips in the bungalow, beach with equipment, extraordinary breakfast. Awesome value off-season.

Featuring a bar and a terrace with sea views, Eco-Hostal Rutamar offers rooms with free WiFi and private balconies in Canoa. Free parking is provided, and common outside eating area is featured. For me, the location was perfect - one street back off the beach - there are 'beachfront' properties, but they look out onto the road and people walking up and down - this location was a 2 minute walk from the beach (we nipped back and forth all day), but much quieter. The design is so cool, and very laid back. There is hot water and a fan in the room. We had breakfast one morning, which was lovely, but a tad expensive. There are lots of other places you can get breakfast - we tried a different place each day. I didn't want to leave!

Located on the beach, within a 25-minute drive of Montañita and a 15-minute drive of Puerto Lopez, Viejamar B&B offers direct access to the beach. Everything was amazing. Not a single complaint. Staff was super friendly, bungalow was exactly what we needed with the mini fridge, surfboards readily available and a simple little breakfast each morning. Couldn’t recommend it more! 🥰

Everything! Mambo Ecohostal is a perfect place to chose when staying in San Lorenzo. Great hosts, good vibes, delicious croissants and pain du chocolate 😏, clean and peaceful. Totally recommend!

Hostel Dannita features a pizza and fast food restaurant and is located in Puerto Lopez, just a 6-minute walk from the ocean. Free Wi-Fi access is available. Best hostel ever! Highly recommend .. the group that runs were the nicest people ever very genuinely kind
