Set very close to banks of the River Rhine, this designer hostel is next to the old city gate of St. Alban. Staff at as do friendly and helpful. My flight had been diverted so I arrived very late. They stayed to get me checked in with no problems. Breakfast buffet (included) was amazing! As a vegan, I definitely appreciated the soy lattes and wide variety of goods I could eat.

Just 300 metres from the SBB Basel railway station (exit Gundeldingen), Hostel by Hyve Basel offers budget accommodation just a 15-minute walk from Basel's city centre. Everything. Staff is very nice.

The Basel Backpack is housed in a renovated historic factory, only 10 minutes from Basel’s main train station. The Basel Mobility Ticket (free public transport) is included in the rates. I liked the 80s club feeling :)
