Set very close to banks of the River Rhine, this designer hostel is next to the old city gate of St. Alban. I reached the hotel by walking from the train station, the location was very good. My room was clean, quiet and quite adequate. The breakfast was quite sufficient and delicious. I was very happy with my choice.

Just 300 metres from the SBB Basel railway station (exit Gundeldingen), Hostel by Hyve Basel offers budget accommodation just a 15-minute walk from Basel's city centre. I stayed in a few hostels during my trip, this was the only one that I felt very good about. The room was very nice, with a sink inside, a towel and hairdryer included. Friendly stuff as well.

The Basel Backpack is housed in a renovated historic factory, only 10 minutes from Basel’s main train station. The Basel Mobility Ticket (free public transport) is included in the rates. Overall a great hostel. Stayed in 8 bed dorm which has plenty of space. Lockers are provided. Generous amount of spaces on ground floor for relaxation. Espresso coffee is available at the bar for extra charge - well worth the price. The staff are incredibly helpful. Excellent value for money.

This is the perfect place if you are staying for a few days, and are out and about during the day and evening. Big room, high ceilings, very clean, good mattress and pillows, and linen. There is a new kitchen with all the amenities, even a coffee machine! New bathroom with shower, cleaned every day. Within easy walk of the main train station and trams/bus.
