This little ryokan-style inn has a traditional Japanese charm. It is a place where locals would stay. The house is silent and everyone is looking out for each other. Just as it is the way in Japan. I would stay here again.

A very friendly welcome. I had the 2 bunk bed room to myself. Plenty of toilets and showers and never saw anyone else. It's 5 minutes from Byodin temple and the river.

I would say it's a good choice if you're on budget. The location of the hostel is great. Close to three stations, and Osaka Castle is within walking distance. From the station you can get anywhere in the city, and it is also very convenient to transfer to other lines that go to other popular tourist destinations. It is also very convenient to arrive/depart from Kansai Airport, as there is a direct connection to the nearest station to the hostel.
The hostel looks old, but it was quite clean (still has things to work on). There is a place to store luggage in the common area, as well as under the bed (if you have a lower bed). A suitcase the size of a carry-on fits under the bed. There are scales to weigh your luggage before leaving. Although there are a lot of people in the room, it is not very noticeable, as most people respect the rules of the place and behave very quietly. Each bed is equipped with a separate extractor fan, two sockets (Japanese), as well as a curtain. There is a hairdryer for common use. There is shampoo and shower gel in the shower. You need to bring your own towel or rent one on site for 100¥.
There is also a charging station for devices in the common area. You just need to bring your own cable. In my case, my devices charged faster through this station than through my adapter.
There is a refrigerator, tea, coffee, and a separate hot water station.
Just 200 metres from Nara Park, Nara Backpackers offers affordable accommodation with free Wi-Fi. The traditional, 100 year-old house includes a modern free-use kitchen with microwave.

Beautiful traditional house, wonderful garden, multiple rooms, a lot of space, great location really close to everything. Loved the experience.
Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
Very cheap price for a double bed room with a private bathroom - check in and check out are extremely no-fuss, you just walk in and out. Room was actually bigger than the last budget hotel we stayed at. Very short walk from the station, great food places within walking distance too.
I don’t think I have ever rated a property as perfect, but this was one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in. It is immaculately clean, and well located only minutes walking from Nara Station and Nara Park. Hiro-San and his family are the most generous hostel hosts I have ever encountered. They will go out of their way to help you! Thank you so much for my stay here!!

Absolutely incredible comfort and hospitality. The owner is exceptionally friendly and outgoing. Fells like a homestay rather than a hostel. Great way to meet new people also.
Perfect
The staff was really nice, the place cute and cozy, felt like home. Bring your earplug if you book the dormitory. Breakfast is cheap ans tasty. Close to the park. In a quiet area. Hot bath was nice at the end of the day!
And cheap.
The location was ideal to walk to Nara park, and the husband and wife owners (I'm terrible with names 😅) were incredibly warming and open when I arrived, and helped to call a restaurant when I needed to check my booking.
My room was lovely, and this is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in!
Perfect location for Nara Deer Park. There were Deer right outside the door.
It was great value for money, when you are a solo traveler looking for somewhere cheap but safe to stay.
It was clean, really really nice for such a cheap hostel, pretty good location (right in the middle of sightseeing locations but not too far from the station).
Great location near temples right in the park. Quiet, friendly, clean place. Not fancy but comfortable as a hostel should be:) Very cheap for such place. Sweet stuff.
