Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.
This is the most luxurious hostel I have ever stayed at. Everything was very modern. I had a bunk bed in a mixed dormitory and the beds were HUGE. They all had a curtain so that you could have your privacy. The kitchen was quite large and there was free coffee.
Fantastic quiet location short drive from Vik, Dyrholaey and Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach. I would give this hostel 5 stars! It doesn't look like a hostel at all. Beds in dormitory are big and comfortable, each with a curtain for privacy and blocking light. Nice kitchen, maybe could do with more cooking stoves. Showers and toilets are very modern and exceptionally clean!
It's a first time for me in a hostel and I can say overall experience was very nice.
It's very clean, has a lot of spaces outside the room to chill, bathrooms, showers and a big kitchen with a view to have lunch or breakfast. Nice decoration, well organised, easy access, check in and parking. The view outside is amazing! I do recommend it for a short stay on budget.
Willing to do whatever they could to make our stay enjoyable. The best hostel I have ever stayed in. Exceptional and great location around the corner from the Black Beach.
Great location, not far from very scenic views. The Barn is definitely a backpacker hostel and is organised as such, with shoe racks outside of each bedroom. Each bed has a place to put their luggage on and there are many coat hangers.
It is well organised with many showers, toilets and sinks. I appreciated the complimentary towel.
Very warm atmosphere.
One of the best hostels I've stayed in. Busy, but it's a great location, just a few minutes from the black sand beach and basalt columns. Fantastic sunset from there.
The room was so spacious (I had a double room), and the bed was SO comfy! The kitchen was spacious and well stocked with all the appliances you'd need. Obviously, the issues of shared bathrooms...waiting for showers, etc, but overall, I highly recommend The Barn.
Great location. Hostel was nicely and tastefully designed. One of the best ones I have stayed so far. Friendly staff. Fantastic facilities. Comfortable double bunk beds. Definitely will stay again.
