The White Horse Inn Bunkhouse, hotel in Threlkeld

Situated in Threlkeld, 12 km from Derwentwater, The White Horse Inn Bunkhouse features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant.

The kitchen and bathroom areas were located close to our room, so it meant easy access to them. The location is great and easy to find being just off the A66, so can't fault it for that. Good amount of kitchen wares to use and the bunks have heating, which is very handy during winter. Very nice views in the morning when you step outside of your bunk. Enjoyed that we booked a room which meant we weren't sharing with others, meaning the two of us had enough room for ourselves and kit.

Fisher-gill Camping Barn, hotel in Thirlmere

Located in Thirlmere, within 11 km of Derwentwater and 26 km of Buttermere, Fisher-gill Camping Barn provides accommodation with a terrace and as well as free private parking for guests who drive.

An excellent stay helped by the snow on the hills. Host was very friendly and got the fires going each afternoon which was welcome to return to. You will not be disappointed if you check what the accommodation is- note it is a barn, fires cannot heat it so warm clothing is needed. Very comfy beds and organised with curtains for privacy.
