The albergue was outstanding. Great value for the money and all home cooked food. Ideal location if you want to make the climb up to O'cebreiro a more doable day.
if you can't manage to get a booking then consider stopping along the way for food. The homemade churos for breakfast or pizzas for lunch will not disappoint. They open all day.

When I chose a place to stay, for me it's important the location, safety, cleanliness and friendliness of staff and honestly this place has everything a pilgrim or traveller might dream. To start with the staff is so helpful, very professional and so friendly, these girls are always ready to help and they let you feel welcome.
The place it's self is perfectly located and on walkking distance to restaurants bars, shops, and to the bus (10 min) and train station (5min) also a shopping mall not far from there. (12min).
I came as pilgrim once and discovered this lovely place and then I came back many times. I love the place because it's so clean, beautifully decorated and there are beautiful restareas if you want to read or work on your pc. in addition there is also a fantastic restaurant aside, where you can eat or have freakfast. The food is exquisite, they value for money amazing. The set menus are the best in all Ponferrada, I tried in many places but this one is the best! the quality of the food and the fantastic presentation and the variety of dishes. Definitely I'll come back again.

There were some well thought out practical points like laundry facilities and the bunks had numbered lockers and side lights and plugs for charging phones. Also some nice touches like freshly made individual loaves and hard boiled eggs and fresh fruit for breakfast and inspirational quotes in the bathroom and boots were left ready on the stairs with a shoe horn to use, and a postcard to remember the town

Location- right on the Camino route. And the view from the room.
Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
I am now finished the full Camino and this has been the best stay of my 33 night journey. Juan is amazing. So welcoming and even carried my bag to my comfortable single bed. Such a luxury not to have a bunk bed here. Clean sheets included. So nice. So clean. Hotel like quality . The dinner was also amazing and not like a hostel or typical pilgrim dinner. Thank you Juan. Keep up the good work and thanks for being the best host on my journey in a lovely town. I want to rate this 11.0 out of 10 :)
This place is one of the best hostels on the Camino and the host is a superstar! The building and rooms are amazing and the host made everyone welcome, with personal touches...such a great guy! Don't hesitate to stay here. :)
Great hostel in Villafranca del Bierzo! The host is extremely friendly and helpful! It's clear that this is a very new and modern hostel. Everything was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and there was a washer and dryer to do laundry. Breakfast was great before heading out in the morning! Great location in the town, easily walkable to everything! Highly recommend staying here!
.Sonia, the owner, is magnificent! Her spirit of care, and giving and attentiveness is present in every detail in the albergue.
The fabric sheets, the amazing garden and sofas in it, the cleanliness, the written signs - everything says care, love and attentiveness.
It's probably the best hostel I stayed in during my Camino, and not necessarily because it was the fanciest, but it was the one that made my heart the happiest.
Thank you Sonia!
By far the best hostel/albergue experience I have ever had. Juan is such a kind host and went out of his way to make sure all the guests were beyond comfortable. The food was fantastic and he accommodated my tricky vegan requests. It's such a beautiful and well maintained facility, you're missing out if you don't stay here!
It's probably the best hostel I've stayed in on the Camino. It was like a resort hotel. 10 single beds (not bunks) in the room with clean cotton sheets, plenty of space, a nice modern bar, and a garden terrace. Dinner cooked by hosptalero's mother was well above average for a pilgrim meal, as was the wine, which was local. Couldn't recommend it more highly.
Stunning hostel situated on the Camino de Santiago. The hostel is new and immaculate, it has a terrace facing the garden which is a lovely place to sit back and enjoy a glass of the wine that comes from the owners vineyard. The host was so welcoming and kind, and the food prepared by his mother was delicious. Bathrooms were clean and the dormitory had single beds with bedside tables, lamps, plenty of power outlets. The design is very modern and really smart. A beautiful hostel.
