Although I arrived very early in the morning off the sleeping bus from Hanoi the proprietors were willing to store my luggage until check in. Around lunch time the hotel was serving a large group but they still provided me with a place to wait and some refreshment until my room was ready. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean and the bed the most comfortable I have had yet in Vietnam. AC kept it cool and there was a nice balcony for use before the mosquito time in the evening. It is a bit of a hike up a steep hill to the central lake but the location is good. All the streets in Sapa are very congested with traffic so it is not easy to be picked up directly at the door but probably this is the same everywhere. I thought there might be breakfast available to buy but they don’t seem to cater except for groups. Not a problem though as you can get a breakfast baguette right next door.

At the homestay, each unit is equipped with bed linen and towels. The host was super friendly, made good breakfast and dinner, helped us book Taxi, hike to Mount Fansipan and motorcycle. The room was clean, the bathroom is located outside, is clean and has a beautiful big shower. Lovely dogs and kids are coming around to play and he offered laundry service (wash+dry) for a fair price and it smelled great afterwards.
