Great location and the room was perfect! Very spacious, clean and comfortable. Gem, who runs the hostel was fantastic! She organised tours and onward travel for us which worked out perfectly. The laundry service was great and it was ready to collect after breakfast.

Although the owner doesn't speak English, they where really lovely. We booked 2 rooms and had diner with another British couple. Around 9 in the evening, the owner of the boat next door started singing karaoke, (the national hobby in vietnam), which was reflected in the whole bay. Such a unique experience! It is a lovely place to enjoy the impressive nature of Lang Ha Bay to the fullest!

We had the most wonderful stay at Happy guest house! Our hosts waited up for us after our delayed flight and asked if we had managed to get some dinner. When we said no we were offered tea and biscuits! We were then offered coffee and breakfast whenever it suited us in the morning. The room was perfect, a great large bathroom - everything we needed! We would recommend happy guest house to anyone!!

Wow!!!! This place was perfect!! Great location, super clean, i mean so clean you could literally eat off the floor!! Beautiful smoking lounge on the rooftop. Great location with a short walk to the center. We had breakfast every morning prepared by the owners wife that was absolutely delicious and the highlight was when the owner Mr Throng would come up to your table each morning with his own home brewed fruity Rice wine and pour you a shot with him and say “This is how we say good morning in vietnam” and believe me it was good, so good i asked him for a second round ;) Mr throng was very helpful with booking us an excursion the first day and renting his bike, he even pulled out a map of the island explaining to us in detail what route to take to get to the near by attractions and how long it would take and timed it perfectly so that we would reach the Jetty on the otherside of the island on time for a beautiful sunset. he even advised us about the money exchange rates in Cat ba advising us to try our best to pay by card or local currency and to save our dollars to exchange them in a bigger city so that the we would get a higher rate. his genuine character and warm personality made our stay in Cat ba a memorable one for sure! Would definitely without a doubt recommend Cat ba central homestay to anyone that is planing to visit and would definitely stay here if we ever return to cat bar in the future!!!!
