The recently renovated Totora Surf Hostel is situated in Huanchaco, near Huancarute and El Mogote. The owners, Diego and Laura were honestly so amazing. They went above and beyond. Everything was tailored towards surfing, which was awesome, such as having buckets for wetsuits, showers downstairs post-surfing, clothes racks, surf board rentals and lessons. Otherwise private rooms, spacious kitchen, super close to the beach, amazing vibes, etc. Diego is also a great surf teacher/coach. I have learned so much from him and the video analysis. I originally planned 3 night and ended up staying 2 weeks. Highly recommend this place - look no further.

The lady from reception was lovely, she gave me advice and was very kind to let me use the room until late at night when I had my bus, without charging me anything.

Spondylus is situated in Huanchaco, 600 metres from Huancarute, 700 metres from El Mogote, and 11 km from Chan Chan Huaca Esmeralda. The property was extremely clean and I felt right at home from the beginning. It had all the amenities you could ask for, and was in a very safe and secure area. The hosts were so kind, I can’t thank them enough for their hospitality. I came to this hotel looking for a few days of rest, and they went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed to recover well. I will definitely be back here again, and highly recommend this hotel to everyone!

It's a perfect place for a longer stay. Room has shelvings, writing desk, is spacious. There is more than one chilling space in the hostel, laundry service, well equipped kitchen, terrace. The rooms are well soundproofed, so guests do not disturb each other. The manager is almost always available and gets all things done . It is a nice place to relax and spend some time in Huanchaco

Boasting a patio with sea views, a garden and a shared lounge, Casa Hospedaje San Miguel can be found in Trujillo, close to El Mogote and 2.9 km from Huancarute. The room is enormous with 4 double beds, 2 large windows and a private bathroom. Nicely decorated with beautiful paintings, much nicer than the photos.The kitchen has everything you need, and the lady there is very kind and helpful. The owner is very attentive to any messages. The rooftop terrace has spectacul sunsets over the sea, and you even have sea views from your room. The WiFi is excellent and the beach is just 4 blocks away. There's a shop around the corner that sells everything including fresh meat. The price was more than reasonable. I was so sad to leave this place, but I definitely plan to be back for a longer stay.

Nice large room with a private bathroom. All very clean and the bed was comfy. The place was very quiet, perfect to rest and recover. *Basic to intermediate Spanish is necessary* Claudia and her son were very helpful and super welcoming. Thank you
