Close to the bus station. We felt so welcomed by the sweet couple that owns it. We made our booking just a few minutes before our arrival and max was working on our room. He quickly and kindly wrapped things up and let us know this was our home! He gave us food recommendations and told us about the area. He got to practice his English and us our Spanish. He was kind enough to drive us to the bus station the next morning. This was one of my warmest and welcomed stays.

Situated in Balgue, Ananda Guesthouse features accommodation with seating area. The property has lake and garden views, and is 12 km from Maderas Volcano. The breakfast options were lovely, the view on the volcano was amazing and I really enjoyed having our private terrace with a hammock and howler monkeys that visited the surrounding nature every day. Oh, and the stars on a not cloudy day, best I have ever seen so far! We have really enjoyed our week on the island, could easily have stayed a bit longer. Café Campestre was nearby, great place for dinner. All in all, it was better than we imagined, thank you!

Very chill environment and the owners truly make you feel like part of the family. They have the biggest hearts and they also keep the facility very clean and comfortable feeling. We will miss this place for sure

Great location short walk to Playa Mango’s for the sunset. Teresa was an excellent host, warm & welcoming and a terrific cook, we ended up eating there every evening

Red pepper is the perfect stay for couples. Fairly priced, built with great attention to detail, and managed in a very sustainable way. Everything works perfectly. Tidy rooms, each with its own terrace on top, and a complete kitchen. Mariken and Mark are lovely hosts and we ended up extending our stay. Would really recommend the curry night on Monday and Wednesday; excellent food and affordable prices.

Boasting a terrace and views of city, Casa Happy Life is a recently renovated guest house set in San Juan del Sur, 400 metres from San Juan del Sur Beach. I loved everything about this hostel. Great location, really good breakfast, super fast WiFi and able to work easily downstairs. Nice staff, clean room.
