Dinner was delicious and the staff was so kind. Really went above and beyond. Such a cozy atmosphere, I wished I stayed more than 1 night.

Polar Bear Lodge er gististaður í Kaminoyama. Boðið er upp á ókeypis WiFi, fjallaútsýni og aðgang að beinum skíðadyrum. Þar er sameiginleg setustofa. Very cosy and nicely decorated hotel with friendly hosts. The environment was very nice with lots of snow during our stay. We also liked the breakfast that was very varied.

Great location! Near to Ropeway 3, convenience store, sake museum, and onsen. Plus points for the delicious barbecue restaurant in front of the hotel. The hosts Oraphin and Taka were very warm and spoke great English too. They had a lot of stories to share and it was such a pleasure to stay in their company. Coffee and tea were provided in the common area. Clean and well-kept place!

The hosts Oraphin, Taka and Yui are such a lovely family, making Matsuo House is such a homely place. Oraphin and Taka are generous with giving local advice on restaurants, walks and Onsen. There’s a lovely common eating/relaxing room, which can make the stay very social if you want it to be. Zao Onsen is a cute little town flowing with hot spring water. The Onsen themselves are petite and local-feeling, which I really enjoyed. There’s a variety of temperatures and settings to explore. If I am in the country again, I will make a beeline for Yamagata so I can stay here once more.

They went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and at home. From the moment I arrived, they were exceptionally friendly and attentive, always eager to assist with any request. The hospitality truly stood out, and it made my stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a warm, welcoming experience!

Daichan Farm Guest House er staðsett í Asahi-machi á Yamagata-svæðinu, í 18 km fjarlægð frá Yamagata og státar af grilli. Hægt er að skíða upp að dyrum. A delightful stay! We were very welcomed at the home stay. We had an amazing time and even tried a Japanese dinner. Thank you!

Yamagata Zao Pension Aplon Stage er staðsett í náttúrulegu landslagi og býður upp á friðsælt athvarf. the owners are very helpful and friendly. they served us really good breakfast. we felt like home. we will definitely go back during summer.

Pension Puutaro er staðsett í aðeins 1 mínútu göngufjarlægð frá Zao Onsen-skíðasvæðinu og býður upp á herbergi í japönskum stíl, franskan kvöldverð og ókeypis Wi-Fi Internet. location is very good, right outside the ropeway and chairlifts. ladyboss is super friendly and helpful. i wasnt well and skipped breakfast, she hand grated apples and gave me an energy drink to help my indigestion! I'm really grateful for her help and concern. she also gave us ticket to the public onsen. 😍 thank you so much, we had a wonderful time.

Featuring a garden, Snowfall Meteor 飛雪流星 is located in Kaminoyama in the Yamagata region, 2.2 km from Zao Onsen Ski Resort. The guest house features family rooms. A lovely and heartwarming place to stay for a winter getaway. The couple that owns this business made us feel like family. Mao and Qu are so kind and welcoming. They treated us like family. They picked us up from the bus station, drove us to a wonderful dinner location (which they recommended), drove us to the ski resort, and helped with all our luggage. I was so happy to meet them and talk with them. The room is just as warm as the owners. The floors are heated and the beds are very comfortable. I wish I could’ve stayed longer.
