Set within 1.4 km of Zaimokuza Beach and 1.5 km of Yuigahama Beach, jiro de kamakura offers rooms with air conditioning and a shared bathroom in Kamakura. This was my favorite homestay in Japan. It felt more like being the guest of a friend in his house. Jiro is an amazing person. He did everything he could to make me feel comfortable and taken care of. We had great conversations. He only takes a few guests at a time so you really get peace, quiet and space. He let me use his bike whenever I needed it. I could cook my meals in the kitchen. The gym in the living room was a big plus. I came here feeling exhausted from other hostels and the city. I was able to get great rest here and feel at peace. I will absolutely be back if I am in the area.

Offering a terrace and river view, Children's cafe B&B Kimie is located in Kamakura, 2.8 km from Yuigahama Beach and less than 1 km from Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine. Everything! It felt like staying with family. Upon arrival Kimie greeted us kindly, she showed us the facilities (very well equipped and clean). During our stay in our room she provided us a hot water bag to make the bed more comfortable. The daily breakfast was also complete, delicious and nutritious. Kimie is a very kind and fun person, she invited us to social activities when the opportunity arose and we had a lot of fun. The house is a bit far from the train station but can easily be reached via bus from the station. It is located near the beautiful bamboo forest and there is also a convenience store nearby. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it. We felt at home and Kimie’s hospitality was superb.

Situated 48 km from Shuzen-ji Temple, Irori Guest House Tenmaku offers 1-star accommodation in Hakone and has a bar. Really nice and spacious stay and the bar/common area was clean and well maintained. Loved my stay here. Not far from bus stop.

Set in Sagamihara, within 15 km of Mount Takao and 20 km of Sanrio Puroland, friendly 民宿 offers accommodation with a terrace as well as free private parking for guests who drive. Clean, comfortable, and cozy. The owner made everything clear, and the room was so clean with a great soft bed and warm down comforter. Had a great night’s rest, and would come again.
